Ethics in Narrative Practice and Design Coaching
Date:
May 20-21 2008 Bethesda
Instructors: Paul Costello and Dr. Madelyn Blair
For those who have been working with story and
narrative in their work and feel it is time for something more, this
is the workshop for you. This workshop is a new offering that is in
response to our former participants.
Narrative plays a powerful role in our lives. Recognizing this power
demands a sensitivity to how it is used. This day will be designed
to bring the concepts of ethical use of narrative practice into
focus leading to deeper understanding of the need, value, and
appropriateness of such care.
Building on this, the second half of the workshop will focus on
actual designs that participants will bring to the session. These
may be new designs, designs that have been implemented and you wish
for improvement, or those that are tried and true. During this part
of the day, participants will present their designs to the group.
Feedback will begin with appreciations and lead into a discussion of
possible changes to better achieve stated objectives of the work.
Ethical considerations will be discussed to reinforce the earlier
discussion.
Before the session, participants will be given guidelines on how to
prepare their projects for presentations. The preparation will not
be onerous, just enough to assure that you bring the essentials to
assure you receive quality coaching. Early registration is
recommended.
Audience
This session is designed for those who have attended at least
one of the workshops on Narrative Practice. The session will be
limited strictly to 10 participants maximum.
