| While the process of
using a reflecting team developed in the context of family therapy where a family
met with a counselor while a team of professionals behind a mirror viewed the encounter
and phoned through suggestions to the counselor, the narrative room takes this basic idea
and applies it to allow people to get a different view on their life through the story
they have chosen to tell. It is not intended to be therapy, the solving of people's
problems etc, though many people find that the view of their lives that they get from the
experience is therapeutic. What you get out of the experience is largely up to you. What
the team intends is to have you more engaged in your own life story, more curious about
the construction of your story and what it might contain in the realm of possibilities for
your life.
